“As we started the process to purchase, he said, ‘Hey, in July you’ll be five years with Tricon. You’ll get money towards your down payment or your closing costs.’ And over time we started seeing different programs come up. So we saw the credit builder, yes, the financial literacy, all of these things to make us qualifying candidates for a mortgage. We wanted to be prepared and Tricon helped us with that. We learned a lot, learned that we could afford more than what we thought.”

Tricon’s Resident Home Purchase Program gives qualifying residents the opportunity to purchase their current home if it becomes eligible for sale. If a home is approved for the program, Tricon contacts the occupying resident first before listing the home publicly.

After five years in a Tricon home, eligible residents may receive a $5,000 grant that can be used toward the down payment on the purchase of any home in the United States.
